Tutorial: Solution for apps 2.2 on iPhone 2.1 (Iron Man, Batman...etc)

by procha / January 6, 2009 12:47 PM EST

After trying to install Iron Man and Batman Mobile using iTunes without success, since iTunes won't let me transfer these games to my iPhone because they're for firmware version 2.2 and I have 2.1, and since I don't plan on updating my iPhone at the moment, I tried this method which has worked very well for me with games made for version 2.2 on my iPhone 2.1

1. They must have the "Installous" On the iPhone, Installous is an application that allows you to download games directly to your iPhone. I've found this application very useful. To install it, you must go to... cydia and add this source (cydia.hackulo.us) with which they can download the installous.

2. Using the DiskAid 2 You need to put the .ipa file on your iPhone in the following path (/var/mobile/Library/Downloads)

3. Then, from the iPhone, they access installousThey click Downloads and will see the .ipa files that have been transferred, select the game and click (Install), they wait for it to install and then they can play

I hope it works for you as well as it has for me so far; I haven't noticed any problems playing Iron Man, Batman Mobile, Sim City, Baseball 2009, among others…
