Volkswagen launches an app to remotely control a car from the Apple Watch

Germany's largest car manufacturer, Volkswagen , recently announced a direct-to-use app for the Apple Watch that will allow users to perform certain functions from their wrist and receive notifications when, for example, a teenager exceeds the speed limit.

According to TechCrunch , the new app for Apple's latest device , which has already achieved great success since its first day of sale and boasts thousands of available apps, will allow users to lock doors, view car fuel levels, and even see directions from their current location to the parking spot.

Volkswagen has also considered including features for parents concerned about their children's speed in the car. For example, this new app will send them a notification when their children exceed the speed limit. Parents will also be able to set geographical boundaries where their teenagers can drive, and if they leave the permitted areas, they will receive an alert on their wearables.

In addition, users will be able to see the electrical charge status for vehicles of this type of engine or see the gasoline or diesel level, see the remaining mileage to travel according to the above data, and even control the internal climate control of the car.

The company has not announced a release date for the app, but the functionality will be available to all vehicles using Car-Net, Volkswagen's online mobile service.
