Wikipedia offline

Hello iPhone users! Finally, what we've all been waiting for: a fully functional offline Wikipedia (without an internet connection). Here's a detailed explanation of how to access it offline, and I'll also provide the necessary applications.

Requirements:

Okay, let's begin:

1- Download the following file: «Wiki2Touch»

We need to extract all the files into one folder.

And we see that it includes 6 files.

gen.exe
ImageGetter.exe
indexer.exe
LICENSE.TXT
pack.exe
TransferTool.exe

The first one we're interested in is "TransferTool.exe". We need to open it.

The following will appear:

Here you select the language you are interested in "ES" and click Download, otherwise leave it as default.

It will start downloading a file called "eswiki-latest-pages-articles.xml.bz2" depending on your connection. In my case, with 2MB, it takes about an hour.

After downloading, in step 3 of the "TransferTool" we select "Run indexer only" and in step 2 of the "TransferTool" we click on the ellipsis to select the file we just downloaded "eswiki-latest-pages-articles.xml.bz2" and then we click "Start Indexer". Here we must wait 10 to 20 minutes, that depends on your processor.
Two files will be generated (articles_es.bin) and (images_es.txt).

THE NEXT STEP IS ONLY FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO HAVE THE WIKIPEDIA WITH IMAGES

It should be noted that this process may take more than 1 day

– We make a copy of the images_es.txt file and rename the copy to images.txt

Now we run the "ImageGetter.exe" file that is among the files you unzipped.

Look at this image, where it says "ja" you should put "es" and leave the rest as default.
Press the "GO" button and you can sleep for more than a full day if you want; you'll need to leave the PC on for many hours.
After it finishes, you will have the Wikipedia images for your iPod Touch or iPhone on your PC; there are approximately 252.062 photos.

To complete this step, we need to package the images using the "pack.exe" program, which is among the files you extracted.
We must run it from the command line, that is, START / RUN / CMD
From the command prompt, we will need to navigate to the folder where we extracted "Wiki2touch".
and then we must write
Pack.exe is images and we press ENTER
When finished, we will have a file called “images.bin” which in my case weighs approximately 2GB.
We need to rename this file to “images_es.bin”

THE FOLLOWING STEPS ARE NOW FOR EVERYONE

Install the "Wiki2touch" and "BossPrefs" applications from Cydia.

After this, we must have the following files that we have created located in a single folder.

articles_en.bin
images_es.bin (for those who added images) or simply articles_es.bin (for those who didn't).
images_en.txt

Having clearly located these files, we must transfer them to the iPod Touch or iPhone.

Using DiskAid, copy them to this path on your iPhone or itouhc.

/ private / var / mobile / Media / Wikipedia / en

We wait for it to finish, then we go to the iPhone or the iPod Touch and
In Safari, we enter the following address, taking into account that wiki2touch is enabled in bossPrefs.
